J. Christopher Freeman, O.D., F.A.A.O., Director of Optometry at Dell Laser Consultants, received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Southwest Missouri State University. He then attended The New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts, where he received his Doctor of Optometry degree with clinical honors. While in New England, Dr. Freeman trained at the New England Eye Institute, the Veterans Administration Medical Center in White River Junction, Vermont, South Boston Community Health Center, and the Naval Ambulatory Care Center at the Naval Education Training Center in Newport, Rhode Island. Following his optometric degree, Dr. Freeman was awarded a post-doctoral fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at Hunkeler Eye Centers in Kansas City, Missouri. While at Hunkeler Eye Centers, Dr. Freeman was an investigator and sub-investigator for several independent and FDA clinical research trials at the Hunkeler Vision Research Center. Dr. Freeman%26apos;s clinical research ranges from new vision correction lasers and non-laser technology like conductive keratoplasty %26amp; intrastromal corneal rings, to dry eye, contact lenses, and pharmaceuticals. As Director of Optometry at Dell Laser Consultants (DLC), Dr. Freeman specializes in the evaluation %26amp; management of vision correction surgery patients and coordinates Dr. Dell%26apos;s clinical research studies. He also coordinates the optometric co-management and education programs for DLC. Dr. Freeman, who is a vision correction surgery lecturer and author, has been named one of America%26apos;s Top Optometrists by the Consumers%26apos; Research Council of America. He is an initial member of the Optometric Council on Refractive Technology, the American Optometric Association, the Texas Optometric Association, and is President and past Secretary of the Central Texas Optometric Society. Dr. Freeman has earned the honor and distinction of Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
